We have a maximum capacity of 100 guests for both day and night. This includes any additional evening guests you may wish to invite. This is non-negotiable and cannot be increased.
After you have seen the barn we can provisionally book your chosen date for a maximum of 7 days (or less if another party is also interested in that date). Within this period we will issue a booking form and T&Cs. These will need to be returned by the 7th day if you wish to confirm. A 25% deposit invoice will then be issued of the total hire fee - The remaining balance will be sent to you 10 weeks before your wedding date.
Once your date is booked we provide you with a full list of local suppliers. We've selected the ones that match the barn's chic style and uniqueness. We don’t charge any of our suppliers’ commission which means they’re on there because we genuinely believe them to be the best. We are very flexible though and you're welcome to source and use your own ones (excluding caterers).
There’s plenty of accommodation in the local area for 100 guests. We can recommend anything from a 5 star boutique B&B to a campsite a few minutes drive away. Or if you prefer there's a lovely, independent country hotel 15 minutes' drive away that can accommodate 100 guests (The Hollies, Martock). This means making your life easier when organising transport to and from the venue, and accommodating all your guests in one place. Perfect for everyone catching up over breakfast the following morning.
Your civil ceremony will be held upstairs in the hayloft. It’s a stunning room and this also means there’s no furniture movement during your day or making you stand outside for hours whilst tables are laid. We politely ask that ceremonies do not take place before 1pm to allow enough time to make the barn look amazing for your wedding.
You can have access from 10am on the day of your wedding. If you wish to come and dress the venue yourselves you're more than welcome. Alternatively the venue can be completly dressed for you - meaning you can sit back and enjoy getting ready on the morning of your wedding.
Entertainment and the bar finishes at 11pm and the barn closes at 1130pm. We cannot extend this license.
Muchelney is a beautiful village with lots of thatched roofs and fields full of livestock - with this in mind; fireworks and Chinese lanterns are not permitted. We also ask that sparklers are not used - the left over sticks can be pretty nasty for our resident little poochies - Woofy & Wally.
